What does documentary film making means?

Documentary films are the intended motion pictures which are made keeping in mind in showing aspects of reality. Those couldn’t be a fiction. But today if see few of contemporary world’s documentary we find it more hypothetical then its actual mean.

Today morning while watching some of the documentaries I found most of them very tailor made. There was one amongst the list “colors of life” a 10 minute documentary. In last two minutes it showed a child who was victim of child labour was carrying kilos of cement over his head in a construction site, with the entire burden over his head, still working hard to earn his bread, and at the mean time another child came there with an ice-cream in his hand. After watching the child working so hard at the construction site he offers him his melted ice-cream, he smile then he turn back and walks. But does it speak the reality? Today our youngsters and even we are full of greed that we never tend to share our things even a melted ice-cream with a stranger.
Just think we are driving in our car, and stuck at a traffic signal we are eating some lays chips or having some coke and by that time a beggar comes to your window you will give him a two rupees coin but you won’t offer him your chips packet or coke! And people this is the reality. May be a very minimal people would offer it but this a fact we would not see it generally. This will be some thing individualistic. And documentary films are subjective. Short films cannot be considered as documentaries. And hope the art of documentary film making will be compiled in few safe hands.
