Bangla Bhasha Dibosh

While living we all eventually become part of some movement. Movements for freedom, social issues and corruption and so many and why I can write this, is because I, myself have been part of a few. But while reading a brief history about 21st February, I was amazed to see that we had movements for language too, quite unexpected. So I carried on my reading and then found few facts.
1948 was the year when a movement started, it took 8 years for the students from the university and widespread civilians to restore a language. Students were killed and beaten and years later it came up as “Language Movement” first ever of its kind. Since then 21st February is celebrated as “Bangla Language Day” later adding to which UNESCO in year 1999 declared the same date to celebrate “International Mother Language Day”.
It was first ever when students and civilian got themselves involved in a movement which was for restoring a language. Today I celebrate my language “AMAR BANGLA”.

Somethings Still Matter.

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear,an honest compliment or the smallest act of caring. All of which have the greatest potential to turn a life around..

In My City

In My City by Priyanka Chopra is one of the most underdone music video I browsed recently. Being a very much “inspired” craft (where I didn’t find lyrics to glue me or replay it), and the treatment of the video is much like Madona, JLo, Natasha or Keisha numbers which we have been seeing from ages. Secondly, now when we have started appreciating an entire film based on “dance”, the choreography is again is an anti appealing jot in the video.
PS- grabbing an international rapper (will.i.am) is not enough to earn appreciations. Very mediocre watch. !!

Why Rumors Has It ?

If rumors are to be believe, then with my few interactions during past few weeks has let me to cover myself in a hard shell, so that no one could ever get to me. At the time when we hear and read many of the rape cases (the rage started after “Nirbhaya” which has prompted anguish mind in the society today) still urge me to think are the women who enjoys top positions are safe enough?

Now you would think I am talking nonsense, and believe me I was thinking, before writing my thoughts here. We all talk about women physical security. We think, is it safe for a woman to drive after 2200 hours? Is it ok to go for a girl to take up night shifts, will she be able to commute alone in the city and so on until I recently discover that though the women who possesses a lavish lifestyle and are quite equipped to pay for their own security are not secure enough. We have a disabled mind society which cannot gulp women successes. We talk about Women Liberalization with a wine glass in hand, but it does not support the thought. And the reason is “The Rumors”. What about the indecent comments and rumors which we come across? Shouldn’t we do something to stop those?

Why every successful woman is labeled “lesbian”? (I don’t find any clue to this) just because they are not married till late thirties or early forties! I heard it first about well known Indian woman journalist years back, and I didn’t believed it then and now I heard the same about a television producer and an actress. Why can’t we handle their successes? Why we are trending toward spreading such non sense rumors? And even if they are then why can’t we accept it. It’s their sexuality and let them have what they want, why other people are even bothered. For God sakes don’t judge people with their sexual orientations. And definitely stop spreading such non sense filthy rumors.
